Mochi Room Battle Beginner Guide
How one Room Battle run works: from buying your first items to watching the automatic battle and reviewing the battle log.
Quick answer
In Room Battle you build a battle room and let it fight rival rooms automatically. You buy battle items, place them on the Hex board, and choose upgrades during the run — the better your setup, the further your build survives.
Start a run
Room Battle was added in Mochi's first major update on September 6, 2026. A run is built around your room setup: buy items, place them across the Hex board, and let the room fight automatic battles against rival rooms. Each run can develop differently depending on the items and upgrades you find.
Buy your first items
Spend Coins on new items in the Shop. Every battle item has its own stats, effects, cooldowns, footprint and role in your build, so try items with different abilities to see what fits your setup.
Place items on the Hex board
Items sit on the Hex board with their own footprint. The update confirms Hex-based placement, drag-and-drop controls, multi-item selection, group movement, group selling and Storage for faster building.
Understand cooldowns
Items have cooldowns that control how often they act in battle. Watch battles in real time, inspect items during combat, and follow their cooldowns and effects to understand what each item is doing.
Refresh the Shop & sell
As a run becomes more difficult, manage your economy: spend Coins on new items, refresh the Shop to see new stock, and sell items you no longer need. Group selling is confirmed for clearing out multiple items at once.
Choose Passives and Ascensions
During a run you choose Passives and Ascensions — upgrades that can completely change how your room performs. Exact upgrade lists and effects are not published in the official announcement yet; they will be verified as in-game data is confirmed.
Use Storage
Storage lets you keep items without placing them on the board, which helps when you want to try different setups or hold items for later in the run.
Watch the battle & use the battle log
Battles play out automatically in real time. If a fight goes wrong, review the battle log to understand what happened — which items acted, what effects fired and why the room lost.
BOTs and real players
Mochi's community is still small, so you may meet BOTs more often than real players in matchmaking. BOTs fill matches so you can battle without waiting; player-only matchmaking is the announced goal as the community grows.
